Mike Bedell is an associate in the firm’s Real Estate Practice Group. He has substantial experience representing all kinds of clients, including retail landlords, industrial manufacturers, hotel owners and office tenants, on all sides of a variety of commercial real estate transactions, including acquisitions, dispositions, financings, leases and developments. He has also assisted colleagues in many corporate transactions, including stock and asset sales and purchases and other corporate matters.
Prior to joining PFS, Mike worked as in-house counsel at a national real estate investment trust and in private practice at both global and mid-sized law firms. This diversity of experience has given him the ability to understand deals from the client’s perspective and the capacity to deliver thorough, high-quality work in an efficient and cost effective way.
Mike enjoys learning the unique details of every deal and the opportunity to dig into and solve any issues that might arise. Whether it’s reviewing shopping center leases and covenants to determine the feasibility of a lot split and sale or researching new federal regulations governing foreign investment in U.S. real estate, he sees every transaction as a puzzle to solve and enjoys putting the pieces together. In addition, he takes great pride in being able to communicate the complexities of these matters to clients in a concise and easy-to-understand way.
Outside of work, Mike likes to golf, bike ride, hike and travel. He’s a lifelong White Sox fan and enjoys learning about all things public policy-related.
