Tom French is an associate in the firm’s Litigation Practice Group. Tom represents clients in state and federal court in commercial matters involving breach of contract, environmental disputes, bid contests, debarment proceedings, banking, commercial torts, and employment disputes.
Tom’s clients have ranged from Fortune 10 companies to family friends. Regardless of the size of the client or the nature of the dispute, Tom’s approach is to understand his client’s business first and then form a litigation strategy. Tom believes this approach minimizes waste and keeps client goals top of mind.
Tom began his legal career in Louisville, Kentucky, where he worked for a premier firm specializing in commercial, educational, environmental, and healthcare litigation. Prior to joining PFS, Tom worked at a mid-sized law firm in Chicago, specializing in commercial litigation and banking.
Tom grew up in the Chicago suburbs and then went to Miami University, where he majored in History and Latin American Studies. It’s also where he met his wife, Alexa. After a short time in sales, Tom went to Indiana University’s Maurer School of Law – where he focused his course work on Intellectual Property. During his third year in law school, Tom took a semester-long externship in Washington, D.C. at the U.S. Department of Energy’s Office of the Assistant General Counsel for Technology Transfer and Intellectual Property.
Outside of work, Tom enjoys spending time with his daughter, exploring Chicago’s food scene, and playing masters water polo.
